Week 11 Preview
Headed into what will be the G-Men's final appearance in the regular season, and coming off of the biggest offensive performance of the year, Darkside and company round out a fantasic season on an 8 game winning streak coupled with 7 straight shut outs, but the Kings Comets will have revenge on the mind as they travel to Dayton this Saturday, remembering the 40-0 shellacking they took a few weeks ago at their home courtesy of Gem City. When Gem City traveled to Cincinnati most rtecently they got off to a slow start offensively but turned things around in the 2nd half on the legs of Austin Howell and we able to pull away with the continue dominating support of the defense.
The G-men hope to leave their final mark on an outstanding season, showcasing their talents at home one last time again Kings before their first frachise playoff matchup against the Cincinnati Bulldogs. Yes, the BCFL playoffs are already set but who doesnt want to pad the stats a little?
With most teams resting key players and using a week that basically wont matter one way or the other in regards to playoff seeding, one would expect top contending teams such as the G-Men to follow suit ....but with the momentum this team is carrying it wouldnt be a suprise at at if this game is used to fine tune this beastly monster created by mad scientist and Head Coach Daniel Parks Sr. His defensive unit came alive week 3 and hasn't let up yet. Very few times in the last 2 months worth of football have they allow another team their redzone. Each time they have the call has been answered and answered in big ways leading to a scorteless streak that would rival any team in the nation.
Due to a terrible stretch of storms and the forfeit or the Dayton Bulldogs on the schedule and game July 18th were officially decided as no contests league wide. No fault of their own the G-Men have fallen to 11th in the national rankings but with one more game to showcase their ability to run away with games and finish with astounding margins of victory and the playoffs right around the corner they will have every opportunity to capture the coveted number one spot by seasons end.
All signs point to Gem City as one of the odds on favorites to win it all and with one last week to come see Daytons best sports entertainment this summer why not bring the family to the park and watch some bone jarring hits and high octane offense. It all goes down this Saturday 3pm Action Sports Center in Dayton.

Week 9 Preview
For a second straight week the G-Men head down south to face off against another Cincinnati based opponent, after 4 straight shutouts and after stringing together 5 wins in a row this Gem City squad has made their hard nosed, stubborn, turnover happy defense known for serving gooseheads and spreading the field offensively.
But this one has a different vibe to it...
The Kings Comets are the opponent and will be the first team the G-Men have faced that have been around for many years. In fact they are a staple of Semi Pro football, many would say they are of legendary status in the community. Although they have fallen on hard times and are currently in rebuilding mode, they recently received a much needed boost when they consolidated with the majority of the now defunct Dayton Bulldogs. The G-Men defeated the Bulldogs week 5 by a score of 30-0 but other than the one game preview they haven't a clue what lies in wait down in the ' Nati this Saturday. By the demeanor of Gem City around practice this week indicated to this sportswriter they plan to continue to dominate each team put in front of them.
The buzz amongst BCFL teams have pointed to Kings as the team to derail Gem City's national championship hopes, coming off an emotional start to their season the two teams that have now joined forces look to collectively turn around their season. Any chance at a birth in the six team playoff format this year would require a victory over the G-Men. Not impossible considering they have upgraded the talent and depth of their squad and have home field advantage Saturday night.
Yes I said night, But see that just the thing.....
This will mark yet another historic event in the storyline of Gem City's inaugural season, their first game under the lights!!! And we all know what under the lights does to those boys from the 937. Currently there are no lights at the G-Men home field requiring all games to be played in daytime hours so this ought to be a treat for Coach Parks & company as well as their fans making the trip to support them. If the previous trips down south are any indicator the GMen travel well and play even better on the road. A few G-Men remain inactive this weekafter the holiday bye week, as they rest players with minor injuries in the push for playoff seeding. But no fear other than this G! The G squad is loaded from top to bottom with a full 55 man, talent and experience rich depth chart and coaching staff. Trust me when I tell you they are worth more than the cost of a ticket to see them in action.
And you'll have you chance this Saturday at Woodward H.S. Stadium in Cincinnati, OH. 7pm kickoff. Dont miss a minute of the action.
Battle of Dayton

Week 6 Preview
For the third week the football gods have tested the Gem City G-Men, a fresh new franchise callign dayton ohio their home. First they were pitted against themselves in a matchups with the Zanesville River Monsters in an attempt at putting on a big enough show to get a high inital ranking. Mission accomplished. Next it was off to Covington to participate in the a Kentucky sunfried slugfest for BCFL Game of the Week. Those honors belong to the team from the Gem City. Now home with healthy rankings and GOTW accolades backing up the movement, the Gem CIty G-Men are set to stake a claim to the city they share with the Dayton Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs being the elderly of the two franchises playing their 3rd season of football. Many of these guys know each other, workout at the same gyms, practice together in the offseason, have friends and family intertwined and basically are all part of the same communities throughout Dayton so its only natural that the Bulldogs take except to sharing their city with the G-Men. The Dayton Bulldogs are winless in the 2015 season thus far but what better to motivate them than a game against than the G-Men.
But the Bulldogs aren't the only ones chomping at the bit, take former Bulldogs player and current G-Men safety Kyle Jacks, when asked how he and his #Darkside unit prepares for a highly emotional game such as this he responed, " First off we need to dial back all of the emotions and just play our game, just like every other week prior to this game and each week prior to this week. I understand it is the Battle of Dayton, but if we lose our composure we will start to play uncharacteristically. We need to keep playing with the same intensity on defense and continue to build off of the big plays offensively. " And if defense is the gospel then the G-Men have the best preacher in Daniel Parks Sr. who is set to lead his team to a third straight shutout, but not if the Bulldogs have their way.
The G-Men are 3-1 and looking for a chance to climb the divisional ladder sitiing behind Butler County who has lost yet, meanwhile the Bulldogs sit in last place in the division. The Batlle of Dayton is sure to be a great game regardless of the result so come choose a side for the war!!! Hopefully you will choose the #DARKSIDE

GOTW Results
On a sweltering 95 degree Saturday afternoon and the Gem City G-Men made their way down I-75 towards Covington, KY. in the hopes of bringing home the win their first GOTW challenge in franchise history, but it didnt come easy. After a sluggish first couple of possessions the G-Men and Bulldogs traded defensive blows all day, having an all out war in the trenches and creating plenty of turnovers.
After an Austin Howell huge run for a score and a pair of hook ups with Tony Bridges and Tae White, the G-Men took an 18-0 lead and Coach parks set the offensive tempo to cruise control as the defense cranked it up another notch edging out a few more turnovers with the interception by safety Kyle Jacks and unnessacarily yet exciting run back, finally being dropped inside the 20, setting up a refreshing victory formation and long exhausted ride back up I-75 home to Dayton with an 18-0 Game of the Week win in tow.

Week 5 Preview

After a dominating performance against Zanesville last week Gem City is set to make a trip down I-75 in the hopes of returning with their 3rd straight victory against the Cincinnati Bulldogs. The Bulldogs coming off the first win of their season prior to a bye week most recently. Cincinnati sits in in a three way tie for second place in their division with a 1-2 record as this game hails the honor of BCFL Game of the Week !!!
This will be the second straight Saturday in a row for the G-Men in which the result will make a deep impact on determining the remainer of their season.
After being ranked 4th in the BCFL computer rankings a quick glimpse of Coach Parks practices this week gave insight as to what the mindset of his players and staff and it was a very unsatisfied one, knowing they can improve, they set to continue to right the ship in route to a Championship. Gem City is stacked full of talent on both sides of the ball but got off to a rather slow start this year. When asked about the first game lose and what contributed to the motivation the G-Men are displaying as of late, former Purdue University standout DT and G-Men 2 way lineman Christian Lafferty explained, " I think we saw the potential we had to win and dominate in the first half but we lost it in the second half. After losing that way, by beating ourselves, we got more hungry for beating teams. Going up against the Extreme, our defense stood fast and the offense began to click. Losing a game we should've won was what put us in a situation to become great. "
Its been a very long time that the city of Dayton has had a legitimate contending team in the world of semi professional football and these guys dont look to disappoint. Veteran LB Dustin Haupt was qouted last after last weeks practice saying," Nothing less than a Ring, we owe it to our fans, our families and the rest of those who sacrificed in our journey ". . After a 34 point shutout of Zanesville last week Coach Daniel Parks Sr. was quick to point out flaws and mistakes but said overall they competed well and he was very proud of the recovery they were making after dropping week one to Butler County. All eyes will be on these teams this week when the Bulldogs try to defend home turf as the G-Men #Darkside hunt for their second shutout of the season and to prove they travel well.... in the words of Mills Lane, " Let's get it on! "
